Undergraduate Writing

Writings are from my Public Relations Writing and
Media Writing & Storytelling courses

This memo was written to address OU Relay For Life's communication strategy plans going forward for the months of May and June of 2019 amid COVID-19. It was to be sent out to everyone that is serving on an executive committee as well as the organization's faculty sponsors.

This was written for an on-campus organization, OU Relay For Life. It explains the organization's purpose as well as general information for prospective members and the OU community as of February 2020. This piece is for Relay For Life to include in any media kit or piece where they want to include any further information about their organization for recipients of any news item they sent out.

I used this strategic communication plan template to pitch a news story in the spring of 2019 about the opening of a new art exhibit at OU's Fred Jones Jr. Art Museum. It was to be pitched to the editor (at the time) of the Marlow Review.

This media kit was written for OU Relay For Life for their online event in April of 2020. It includes an email pitch, possible social media posts, a fact sheet and feature story idea. Along with these is an explanation of why I chose these elements and which channels I would use and why.  It was to be sent out to local news outlets that may be interested in covering the Relay For Life annual spring event.

Written for my Media Writing and Storytelling class- It covers the OU ROTC's annual fundraiser, the SoonerStrong5K in April of 2019. There are interviews from various ROTC members and covers the run itself. The purpose of this assignment was to go out and find a story on my own and interview people to write a news story for a newspaper of my choice. The intended audience was the newspaper's readers.

I wrote this newsletter for a final project in my Media Writing and Storytelling class. This newsletter interviews senior members of Kappa Kappa Gamma who were graduating in May of 2019, a sit down with the chapter's president and I talk with freshman Kappas about their first year in the sorority.
